When the Camera Earns Its Place Here, and When It Doesn’t
A camera is easy to justify on an eighty-year-old drain, where nobody knows what previous owners did to it. On a run laid in the late 1990s that argument does not carry, and pretending otherwise would be a way of selling you something.
It earns its place in four situations. The first time root material appears on the cutting head, because the age of this pipe says that should not exist yet. When a line has stopped twice inside a year with nothing obvious at the fixture. When a pool, a patio or an extension went in after the house did, because somebody cut a junction into a sealed line.
